Revive
Your Natural Energy
Each season signals a change in work, school, family,
and community responsibilities and culminates in an
unspoken, upward push to accomplish more. When you are
in this cycle, it's not uncommon to feel lethargic,
disconnected, unfocused, unfulfilled and wondering how
you're going to make it.
Personal, work and business goals, plans, and expectations
are important. But the truth is that they can and will
continue to be set, revised, and recalculated long after
you flip the page on the calendar.
- Do you rely on coffee and/or energy drinks to get
through the day?
- Does your to-do list make your head spin?
- Are you unintentionally missing appointments, deadlines,
or special occasions?
- Do you feel rundown, exhausted or confused?
- Does it feel like the days are just whipping by
you?
- Can't remember the last time you turned down a project?
These are good indicators of depleted energy reserves.
The body communicates in many ways. By honoring the
body's sacred wisdom, you can tap into a wellspring
of abundant natural energy. Here are some ways to help
get you started:
1. Laugh.
Seriously. Besides lifting the spirits, laughter promotes
deep breathing. No need to laugh at anything in particular,
simply find a laughter partner (children are great at
this!) and start chuckling. Afterwards, relax by focusing
on your natural breathing rhythm.
2. Move.
Moving your body sends oxygen to the muscles, tissues,
and cells! Keep it simple: stretch, do a few yoga poses,
jump rope, walk the dog, rake the leaves
whatever
'moves' you, literally.
3. Visualize.
Find a quiet place to relax. Close your eyes gently
and envision your body being filled up with a healing
light, enveloping and permeating every single cell with
warmth and brilliance until your entire body glows radiantly
within and without. You feel contented, safe and strong.
4. Eat.
Focus on whole foods - fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds,
grains, healthy oils, grain-fed meats and water. Starting
with a good, nutritious breakfast means less hunger,
consistent energy, and better choices throughout the
day.
5. Release.
Let go of chaos, negativity and self-limiting beliefs.
Practice saying 'no'. Create time for rejuvenation -
turn off the phone, TV and computer for an evening,
schedule a regular massage, soak in a luxurious bubble
bath, or enjoy a simple, quiet weekend getaway.
Knowing the steps only helps if you are willing to
take them. Begin by choosing to take one step today.
Build by choosing to expand. Continue and release the
energy that is in you!
